Cargill Cottage is a comfortable 3 bedroom self catering cottage, in beautiful Barrytown, home of the world famous “knifemaking” activity!

Situated just 100 metres from the entrance/exit of the Croesus track, it’s a great place to stay after a long walk. You can soak in the bath and warm up by the fire! Enjoy the wonderful beach, just a short walk away, and if you’re lucky, you may find a piece of greenstone!

You can collect edible mussels at Bakers Creek, light a fire on the beach (there’s always plenty of wood there), and check out the amazing orange starfish colony at the 17 mile bluff – they’re awesome!

As well as forging your own knife in Barrytown, you can carve jade, hire a horse, do a wagon tour, or just plain chill out. The beach is safe for swimming, and we have large flutter boards available for your enjoyment. Bring your camera and plenty of good food.
10 minutes south of Punakaiki and the famous Pancake Rocks & Blowholes.
So come to Barrytown, it’s a great base for a West Coast holiday!!!

Lovely 3 bedroom self catering holiday house, in a private bush setting, with views to the Tasman sea and Mt Cook.

Very peaceful and relaxing with deck and verandah all around, external doors from each bedroom onto the deck.
Has 2 queens, and 2 singles, plus spare mattress if necessary.
Light, bright, warm and comfortable, with a good library.
Situated about 30 kms north of Greymouth, and 10 kms south of Punakaiki – a great place for a holiday stay!
